Business support and support for start-ups

Aims

By providing business Support and support for business start-ups we will significantly assist in the regeneration of the local economy. To ensure the quality of support offered to this sector the Project Team in Athy will work closely with the project team in Rhyl, in addition to State and Semi-state organisations focusing on identifying opportunities for expansion, cross border/Joint Ventures and identifying training needs, particularly in the area of IT and communications.

In order to fulfil these aims the following strategy has been developed:

• Compiling of an up to date Economic Profile
• Active involvement in identifying opportunities for business start ups and cross border / joint Ventures
• Support provided to local business by Project Staff
• Holding of an Environment Protection Workshop
• Identifying Training needs in regard to IT and communications
• Developing a project Newsletter
• Developing a Business Library and resource Centre for use by Project Staff and local Business/Groups
